Dr. Jason W. Brown, Governor
Dr. Brown is world renown for his work in cognitive psychology. Since 1979, Dr. Brown has been a Clinical Professor in Neurology at New York University Medical Center, and since 1993, Visiting Scholar at New York Psychoanalytic Institute. He has served as attending physician at University (Tisch) Hospital in the NYU Medical Center and at Bellevue Hospital since 1984.
He is the author of 14 scientific monographs and over 200 peer-reviewed articles in neuro-psychology and theory of mind. He is best known for his work in neuro-psychology and process philosophy, especially time, change and related issues in the philosophy of mind.
He has won the Copernicus Prize and Virtuti Medicinali award for his outstanding work in the field of cognitive psychology in 2003.
He has been a reviewer and recipient of grants and fellowships from the National Institutes of Health and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and has been on the editorial boards of leading journals in his field.

Dr. Jake Madden, Governor
Dr. Madden has a strong interest in building teacher capacity through the development of learning in the contemporary world, the promotion of flexible learning spaces to meet the needs of the 21st century learner and curriculum for global mindedness. He is an expert in school improvement and is frequently called upon nationally and internationally to offer insights into building teacher capacity in de-privatizing teaching and learning.
He has authored four books and a number of journal articles showcasing his experiences and research into leading educational change. Recent publications include, "Teachers TEACHing Teachers", ‘Creating the Outstanding School”, and ‘Teacher As Researcher’. He is on the editorial board for the International Journal of Innovation, Creativity and Change. He was awarded a Fellowship with the Australian Council of Educational Leaders in recognition of his contribution in this area and to fostering teacher professional learning.
He is dedicated to the best practices in creating learning environments that support and meet the current and future learning needs of today's learner, which is a key strategy to improving student achievement
In previous roles, he has been the secretary of ACEL, NSW Branch, a delegate for the Coffs Harbour Education Skills Forum and treasurer of the Diocesan Principals’ Association.
Professor Gordon Alley-Young, Governor
Gordon Alley-Young, PhD, is the Chairperson of the Department of Communications and Performing Arts at Kingsborough Community College – City University of New York, where he is also a Professor of Speech Communication. His research explores intercultural communication, popular culture, and critical socio-cultural perspectives on teaching/learning, identity, ethnicity/race, gender, class, among other highly important categories. Dr. Alley-Young’s research appears in several peer-reviewed journal articles, notably, “Articulating Identity: Refining Postcolonial and Whiteness Perspectives on Race within Communication Studies” (Review of Communication, vol. 8, no. 3) and as chapters in scholarly books, notably:
“Secret Superhero in a Black Burka: A Cultural Analysis of Identity Politics, Representation, and Impact in the Burka Avenger” in the book Negotiating Identity & Transnationalism: Middle Eastern and North African Communication and Critical Cultural Studies (Peter Lang, 2020)
Selected pieces of his research, previously published in English, appear in works that have been translated into Spanish and Turkish. Dr. Alley-Young is a past book review co-editor for American Communication Journal and a past president of CLASP, the City University of New York League of Active Speech Professor.
